NEXT.JS + OPENID CONNECT

Ship your app.
Let us handle login.

Connect your Next.js application to Atom9 using Auth.js and OpenID Connect. Keep credentials out of your frontend and give users an EU-hosted sign-in flow.

Standard OIDC. Your server owns the application session.

THE CONNECTION · NOT A FULL CONFIGURATION
Next.js application
 Auth.js OIDC provider

 issuer: https://id.atom9.com
client ID: from your Atom9 app
 client secret: server-side only

 sign in → Atom9 → app callback

Use the complete example for your routes and library configuration. Never expose the client secret through NEXT_PUBLIC_ variables.

Three things to connect.

01

Register your sign-in app

Create an Atom9 account and use the auth-app wizard. Register the exact callback your application uses. Development and production URLs need their own entries.

02

Configure your server

Use the documented Auth.js OIDC provider settings, your client ID and a server-side secret. Let the library handle the protocol checks; do not decode a token and treat that as validation.

03

Test the whole return journey

Start in your app, sign in at Atom9, return through the callback and confirm the app session. A successful login prompt alone is not a completed integration.

A few practical details

What callback URL should I register?

Use the exact callback route generated by your chosen provider configuration. The Next.js example shows the corresponding setup. Scheme, host, port and path matter; a development callback does not cover production.

Can I use localhost while developing?

Yes. Register the exact localhost return URL for your development app. Production return URLs must use HTTPS. Wildcard URLs are not a substitute for explicit registration.

Do I need to store my users’ passwords?

Not for the Atom9-hosted login flow. Atom9 handles authentication credentials. Your app still owns its session, authorisation rules and any application data it stores.

Can the login match my Next.js site?

Yes, with Pro or Managed. Give the Atom9 agent your website as a design reference, or edit your login content directly. See how the white-label workflow fits together.

Do you support stacks other than Next.js?

Atom9 uses OpenID Connect. The integration guide also includes examples for Node.js, Django, Flask, Go, Rails, Laravel, Spring, ASP.NET Core and Rust.
